The Fringe Festival continues to thrill audiences with glimpses of the brazenly bizarre and the endearingly eccentric. This eclectic extravaganza brings art lovers the rare chance to view artworks from 30 of Japan's leading modern and pop artists. Sixty works of art will be exhibited for public viewing, including Sweet Inn from Mari Yamagiwa (pictured). Other artists in the collection express their style through a variety of media, including oil, acrylic, CG, lithographs, wirework, traditional paint and ink. Whatever the means of creation, each piece presents itself with an irrefutable charm and authority. This showcase offers a wonderful chance for Melburnians to view and appreciate Japanese modern and pop art in all its weird and wonderful grandeur. -- ZAK HEPBURN
